“What are you doing this Sunday?”
“Oh some relatives are visiting our place”
“Again? They came last week as well I suppose?”
I just gave a modest smile as a response for that. Now how can I tell that some one is coming to see me again? I mean….My whole Sundays are booked for proposals..can I just publicize it? definitely I told them about first 2 Sundays…but now this is my 10th Sunday I suppose and I don’t calculate proposal visits because it gives me a headache when I do so.
I get this annoyed feeling when I hear that there’s a new proposal for me. I was indeed excited in the first time. I dressed nice.. Mother prepared some snack..I told my friends. He was there…he was some sort of charming but not really my type.. But that was ok.. The hardest part in these proposal visits is adjusting to the situation. I sit in one corner he sits in another corner. we exchange looks from time to time as we speak an alien language. It’s very easy to spot the groom cause he the one who talks the least or talks nothing at all. The so called debater has nothing to say now? From the other hand it’s the complete opposite with his family .it’s like an interview… his folks have lots of question..’why do I work?’ ‘where do I work?’ ‘ how do I go to work?’ ‘Do I have a degree?’ ‘Do I cook?’ ergh..there’s a lot more.. well after that it’s my folks’ turn to interrogate him ‘so where’s this company you work?’ ‘which batch were you in the university?’
It’s strange..every one talks with each other..except both of us..I mean we are supposed to be the couple ?At least for now? But the most awkward moment is when someone says loud “don’t be shy..go and talk to him” and everyone stop talking and stare us at as they have reached a climax of a film..[oh boy..kill me now..] we were taught to not to talk with strangers but now they force us to talk with strangers.. and what should I talk? I mean like ‘is that a Yes or a No?’
So I ve met few grooms for the past few days. Some are nice..some are not..some are good but their folks look demanding..and some don’t like me..so the journey of hunting grooms goes like that.. because of this hunt I miss my leisure Sunday and have to put up with a drama and mom gets busy making snacks. I call it a waste of time because I cancel all my plans and sit on a sofa like a plum pudding for 2-3 hours.
Dear Future Mr. Perfect groom, why are you not coming soon?
Haha π good one !!!!
